Congratulations, Stadsherstel Willemstad, on 35 years of preserving our heritage!
Scharloo Abou is home to many of Curaçao’s historic monumental buildings, and organizations such as Stadsherstel Willemstad and Monumentenzorg play an important role in safeguarding this valuable architectural heritage. By restoring these buildings and giving them a new purpose through rental as homes, offices, shops and other spaces, they help keep the district alive while preserving its unique character for generations to come.
Our congratulations go to manager Ronny Lobo for his energetic commitment and continued efforts, together with the Board of Directors and all employees who contribute to this important mission. Since 1991, Stadsherstel Willemstad has helped bring new life to historic parts of our city, showing that heritage preservation is not just about protecting the past, but also about investing in the future.
We look forward to seeing many more great restoration projects in Scharloo Abou and beyond, ensuring that these remarkable buildings remain part of Curaçao’s living heritage for generations to come.
